As you know we always strive to bring you the very best and when we set out to create our fake tanning range that rule applied more than ever. We wanted to bring you the very best in both tanning and skincare which is why we researched and tested for over 2 years. We were equally committed to bringing you the very best in both categories. We are proud to say that we have.
We have included many skin enhancing ingredients but the jewel in the crown is certainly the Kakadu Plum. Also referred to as ‘Gubinge, Billygoat Plum or Murunga’, this powerhouse fruit is grown natively in Northern Australia, The Kimberleys and Arnhem Land. It has been used for years by Indigenous communities for its medicinal healing properties and Kakadu Plum offers an extensive list of benefits for the skin. Grown free from human intervention, this beautiful wildcrafted ingredient is harvested in an environmentally friendly manner to protect its pristine natural habitat.
Kakadu Plum is used for it’s anti-ageing, brightening, antioxidant and soothing properties.
Let’s get a little scientific…
Best known for their incredibly high vitamin content, Kakadu Plums contain over 3000mg of Vitamin C per 100g of fruit1. That’s a Vitamin C concentration 50% higher than oranges!
When used in skincare products, this supercharged ingredient works to stimulate the production of collagen and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C is also effective at reducing the appearance of scarring or hyperpigmentation as it naturally lightens the complexion.
Not impressed enough? It is also extremely rich in antioxidants, this super-fruit detoxifies the skin and fights off free radical damage caused by environmental factors such as pollution or sun exposure. Found in some of the most remote areas of Australia, Kakadu Plums have an extremely rare antioxidant profile. These harsh growing conditions mean each plum develops a highly efficient defence mechanism made up of diverse antioxidants.
We still aren’t done…they also contain phytochemical gallic and ellagic acids. What are these? Bare with us… Kakadu Plums have long been sought after for their anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. While gallic acid works to restore the skin’s natural barrier, ellagic acid encourages skin elasticity and suppleness. Ideal for acne or breakout prone skin, the oil extracted from these plums help to balance the complexion. This is why our fake tans are perfect for the face as well as the body.
Finally, if you struggle with skin that’s prone to sensitivity, Kakadu Plum is deeply soothing. The gallic acid (a natural anti-inflammatory), helps to reduce redness, inflammation and irritation.
We want you to glow with a healthy colour as well as healthy skin. Fake tans are renowned for drying out skin so we wanted to reduce this as much as we possibly could and we have.
If you know, you glow.
